#ChickFilA #LGBTQ #Starbucks
I'm working for two different sides of the coin right now, on one side I have my completely accepting franchises that I've worked for, and the polar opposite (corporate)--Who a ton of LGBTQ friends and even dates have asked me how I work for them. On the other I have #Starbucks, a company that a lot of Christians see as going against the Bible...whether that's their Christmas cups, (I'm sorry, that one is comical to me.) or the fact that the company on a whole is completely accepting of the LGBTQ community. I want to go into why I work for CFA at this point.
I realize not a lot of Christians know that there are LGBTQ workers at CFA; but there are. And I'm proud to be a part of that minority. I want to go into why I continue to work for CFA after about 5+ years...(give or take a few breaks between the three locations I've worked at.)
1.) The People/Culture of People-We have some really good workers and just all around good people. I've seen this at all 3 locations I've been able to work at.
2.) The Opportunity to make a difference-We as a franchise are able to help people and potentially make their day better.
3.) The Duty-I feel as a Gay man I need to stay as long as I can so that hopefully other LGBTQ people can feel safe and that they don't have to hide any part of themselves because they are scared of homophobia showing its nasty head (granted it's everywhere, but you get the point...)
4.) The Fun-When we are jiving on the floor the work seems effortless.
5.) Faith-We can have discussions of our beliefs without people looking at us like we have a third eye.
All of this to say, I will continue to stay with CFA until I feel it's time to go and or God tells me otherwise.
